After the 2nd of February 2026, traditional land proofs, such as girik, petok D, letter C, landrente, and similar documents, will no longer be recognized as valid title deeds. These documents serve only as administrative references, not legal proof of ownership. To secure land ownership rights, the land owner must obtain an official land certificate through the National Land Agency (Badan Pertanahan Nasional / BPN) before the deadline.
The End-of-Validity Notice signals that traditional land documents lose their legal force as title deeds five years after the enforcement of Government Regulation (Peraturan Pemerintah / PP) Number 18 Year 2021 concerning Management Rights, Land Rights, Residential Units, and Land Registration, which will be on 2 February 2026. After this date, traditional land documents cannot be used as proof of land ownership.
